Kar-Tech Wireless Deadman and Enabling Kits deliver a powerful combination of safety, intelligence, and affordability. Using advanced wireless mesh control, a single Deadman transmitter can safely stop up to nine machines in real time, giving operators immediate control across multiple pieces of equipment.
Designed to meet stringent safety requirements, the system complies with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 per IEC 61508 and Performance Level (PL) d per EN ISO 13849-1, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments.
At the core of the system is a robust receiver featuring two independent solid-state sourcing outputs, each rated at 5A.
-
The primary output activates when the Deadman switch is pressed and shuts off immediately upon release.
-
The secondary output activates when the Deadman switch is pressed after receiver power-up and deactivates when released, requiring a power recycle to reset adding an extra layer of safety.
The Enabling transmitter operates similarly to the Deadman but includes a third position that shuts off all outputs, providing enhanced control during critical operations.
Because safety is paramount, Kar-Tech incorporates built-in redundancy at both the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter uses dual normally-open switch contacts in series, while the receiver employs a third output to supervise and activate the two primary outputs, ensuring fail-safe operation.
With the ability for one transmitter to control up to nine receivers, or up to nine transmitters to control a single receiver—the system offers exceptional flexibility. A single operator can safely manage multiple machines, or multiple operators can safely stop one machine. All devices communicate via two-way wireless mesh networking, delivering real-time feedback on machine status and radio link health, so operators always know the system is working when it matters most.
